May's a blur

It's been a very busy month.   Can't believe it is the end of May.
I've been working 2-3 days each week as a school nurse as well.
Here's a little summary:

SOME EXTRA KIDS
Ben and Rachel went to Hawaii and we had the pleasure of keeping Allie and Braden.   So much fun to have a little baby in the house.   Hannah was in heaven and such a great help to me.   She was a great sleeper and just a delightful little personality.   And Braden and Preston had a blast together.   Never a problem between them the whole week long.

AN INVITATION
to Prom for Katie....it was a sweet moment during halftime of a water polo game.

 WATER POLO
Varsity bonding activity.   Katie and her group were the Kissettes.

Katie got the "Best Dressed" award.   Her friend Alissa was in the Pussycat Dolls.
The WP state tournament was very exciting.   So exciting in fact that we forgot to get pictures.   Bummer.   Katie's team won their first 3 games easily.   Then they had to play first seeded Enumclaw...and WE WON!  6-5  in double overtime.   It was the most exciting game ever.   We made it to the Championship game and played Gig Harbor, lost 7-9.  2nd in State was a pretty great way to end the season.    It was a well fought game against a very tough team.   The girls had such a great season and pulled together and improved as a team.   It was so much fun to watch them play.   Katie had a great season.    She and Alissa were a great support to each other and look forward to another great season next year.  We enjoyed having parents, WP players and their friends over for a party after the game--probably about 75 people partying it up inside, outside--playing basketball,
bonfire with smores, lots of food and relaxing together.
I love having parties at our home on warm summer evenings, it's the best.

SCRIPTURE MASTERY
with Mackenzie, Sara, Sarah and Kadyn.   Katie did a great job helping her class and was the last one standing from her class in the Master Scriptorian competition.   Her friend Fletcher did awesome in the 4 year Master Scriptorian--he battled it out with another for a long time and then took 2nd place.   All the kids were impressive!

MOD PROM
Getting ready--
When her friends from WP found out she had 1 hours to get ready for her Mod Prom, they wanted to come help.   She was pampered, and they had her looking beautiful.

Before the dance pictures..

Cheryl and I were in charge of recreating Pike Place Market and we spent weeks scheming, planning, delegating, recruiting help and creating.   Knowing our kids were going made it worth it and we feel it all turned out great.   The kids enjoying interacting with the vendors as they entered the building.   Once inside they had dinner at the Space Needle, complete with elevator ride.   It was a fun event...glad it is over...haha  Enjoy the pictures.   Oh and Mike was an amazing fish vendor.

  1. wow. so many things to comment on. Great Job to Katie and her team!!! 2nd in state is awesome. Summer parties on the hill are the best. GREAT JOB on the mod prom. Wow, that looked sooooo impressive. Wish I was still there on the hill to help get the girls ready for dances, and play with the little 'uns when their parents go on vacation. I still remember watching Katie for you for a week when I was in jr. high? Highschool? so fun.

Katie is such a beautiful, athletic, talented young woman! Her parents and family deserve a supporting role trophy as well!
