Summer fun

Preston finished up baseball season at the end of season parent -kid game.
He was a pitcher and outfielder.

Trip to Seattle on Bremerton Ferry...beautiful Seattle skyline.

We spent several days on Lake Steilacoom at McNaughtons and the kids had soo much fun tubing, swimming and kayaking.

Preston with his cool big cousins, Troy and Justin.

OUR First Official Family Reunion

In July, we had 4 wonderful days on the Oregon Coast at Waldport...rented a beautiful home on the beach which had lovely amenities...hot tub, game room, two living rooms and of course the beach!   We attended the cute little Waldport Branch on Sunday and walked through the town antique shops a couple times.   Preston found a new hobby of skim boarding which was so fun and we also hopped down to Florence for a ride on the Sand Dunes.   What a blessing to all be together again!

Yummy Sunday Dinner with Dad's teriyaki salmon, rice and veggies.   Bethany made up our menu and we all took turns cooking which made everything fun and easy and stress free!

Baby Adair was a star attraction!

Happy 4th

Preston and Braden helping build the huge wall---each block weighs 65 pounds.   The construction is beginnning!

Christian was barely home from his mission and so we had some friends over for the 4th...Emily flew in from Provo that morning.   It was a fun time complete with a girls time getting ready!

Finally! Christian's Homecoming!!

Here is a smattering of pictures from Christian's homecoming...most at the airport welcoming him home with our large family, some with friends on the 4th of July and some during that first week he was home.   It has been a long two years and he has served so faithfully as a missionary in Mozambique.   We are so happy he could serve but now SO happy to have him home again.   The girls enjoyed receiving sarong gifts from him and Preston an orange t-shirt which he wears proudly and the batik clothes are beautiful.   The summer was filled with family adventures (which I will blog about soon!) and also getting a handle on Christian's adjustment and keeping him healthy.   His positive attitude and sense of humor amidst being diagnosed with diabetes during the last couple months of his mission and then Bell's palsy when he got home (thankfully that is resolving) is a huge blessing.
He is quickly gaining the 20 pounds he recently lost on his mission.
We are getting a handle on this diabetes and everything is going to be OK!
