Another Missionary!

Southern Africa....

Christian has been called to the Mozambique Maputo Mission.

He reports on June 8th.

His mission includes Mozambique and Angola, Portuguese speaking.

The mission was formed in 2005 and

has about 30 missionaries serving currently.

AFRICA.

We didn't see this coming. We are EXCITED for him!

Skeeball

We are the proud owners of a skeeball game... It's really an antique version from the Seattle center. Wish us luck as we eventually try to fit this 14 foot toy into our rec room.

Beautiful Bavaria

We just had a wonderful 3 days at Leavenworth Bavarian village in the Cascade mountains. It was a grand time with great friends...These lights and two feet of snow welcomed us as we drove into town.

*Marie and Melody took a 5 mile cross country ski hike. Everyone enjoyed the skiing. Mike and the kids waited patiently for us to return--it took us a while! The hot tub felt great afterward.

*Preston's favorite activity was playing basketball(Bump) and racquetball with all the boys in the hotel court.

*Mike liked watching Marie and Preston dance the Polka at King Ludwigs.

*Hannah loved the amazing breakfast each day. We ALL loved the amazing breakfasts each day.

*Katie (and Kelsey) loved jumping into the ice cold outdoor swimming pool.

*Another favorite was the ping pong tournaments, (Zeno definitely left his mark in the Ping pong room!) sledding, the ice sculpture festival in town, swimming and hot tubs, and games and talks in the beautiful Enzian lobby. Wish I had pictures of everything but here are a few...

Red Rock Canyon

On Christmas eve morning we visit this beautiful State park just outside of Las Vegas. Christian and Sean climb to the top of the huge rock mountains. The rest of us enjoy exploring the lower rock valley.

Santa visits and hands out gifts on Christmas Eve....hmm who is Santa?

Sean finds the almond and wins the Marzipan pig.

On Little Yule(Dec. 23) we do have all sorts of activities: Gingerbread house making, sugar cube house, cookie making, woven paper baskets, marzipan creations, aepleskivers--lots of busy activities organized by Grandma.

Grandma directs the children in "The Smallest Gnome" play complete with singing. Preston and Boston play the two little gnomes and Hannah is the narrator.

Of course FOOD was a major part of the festivities
