Betteridge Blast 2009

We loved hiking the lava caves again...one mile in to the very end.

We had a great time in Sunriver. We rented a big home with Ben and Rachel and Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma Bateman joined us too. Hannan bonded with Birgita.

We loved an evening at Mavericks with a pizza dinner, indoor pool and wave rider

Abby, Hailey Preston and Hannah at the finish line.

Grandma puts Birgita asleep while we were waiting for the kids to come back from their horseback ride.

Kids Splash Pedal and Dash Triathlon....Sunriver Oregon...Hannah comes in for a strong finish!

Hannah, Preston, Christian and Braden have fun going down the giant slide at Mavericks as one huge ball!

Christian Highlights, Junior year.

April 10th, 2009: 17 years old
Loren Franz is a great friend who was baptized last year. Here they are at the Sprinker skating rink for Mutual. Of course Loren is eating, he loves food.
Christian took a trip to San Francisco to visit Ariana Viera at New Years--4 fun filled days!

CHOIR TRIP TO SAN FRANCISCO: We had a great few days and performed at Grace Cathedral with Chanticleer. Dad was there to do his super amazing chaperone job.

Brittney and Chris and their cute boys come to see us!

DRAMA Stuff: Christian had some major roles in 2 One Act plays and some interesting parts to play..uh hem. If you want more info, talk to Christian sometime. In the Fall he was in Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat playing the brother, Reuben. Hannah was in the Children's Chorus.

DANCES-

Christian and Jordan ready for Mod PromMaria Dogera and Christian go to Senior prom together with a fun group.

Ben and Christian ready for Junior assemblies--

Swimming and water Polo were a huge part of Christian's Junior year. Curtis Water Polo won the State tournament and even though this was Christian's first year playing he was a big contributor on the Varsity team. During swim season he got his swim times down...100 free just under 50 seconds and his 50 free just under 23 seconds. He qualified for 4 events at the state tournament--two relays and two individual events. Another great friend on the team was Taylor Nolan.
Steven Palin, Christian, Nick Burns and Skyler Loth ready for our 4x100 relay at the State Tournament.

Here is a video that Mike made highlighting Christian's 50 free event at the district meet. Christian is in Lane 2---very exciting race!

A day at Ocean shores

Preston says: "Christian pulled me on the boogie board and it was a lot of fun. We saw whales and dolphins too. I love my big brother!"
We spent a fun day at Ocean Shores for Memorial Day--we even enjoyed bring Charlie with us.

Spring Break in Utah!

Mike and Loren took a group of Priests from the Soundview ward to Conference.

CLIMBING TO THE Y!!

We hiked up to the Y and saw some sky divers taking off just above the Y. Christian took the picture above from his phone!

We all loved attending the last session of conference as a family.

Vienna

The end of March was special time as I traveled with my Mom and sister Julie to spend 10 days in Vienna with Emily. We were able to see a couple of her performances, tour around Vienna and Bratislava, see Il Divo in concert, go to Schonbrunn palace and so much more. It was a wonderful trip! We are standing in front of the Russian Orthodox church and our hotel is behind to the left. We loved this Marriott Reniassance hotel!

A new puppy

Hannah has been asking for a dog for years it seems and I just gave in for her 10th birthday. We chose a cutie...Charlie is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. He is an energetic and loving puppy and wants to please. Preston is adjusting to the fact that he is no longer the youngest and smallest in the family.

FUNNY STORY!!: The day after we got Charlie I noticed while everyone else was happily playing with the puppy, Preston was sitting alone on the other side of the room looking sad. So I asked him, "Hey buddy, what's the matter? You doing okay?" He replied sadly, "The dog is cuter than me." I guess we needed a dog more than I realized.
