Swim Season Senior year

Some Memorable moments from this season.....Cheering Loren Franz in the 500 freestyle! It was inspiring to watch him swim this long distance event that he had never attempted before.
Loren always keeps us entertained in the water...haha

So much fun getting together for the State dinner, district dinner and just hanging out with the team. This has been such a fun bonding year for the boys. Christian and Skyler especially enjoyed being with the freshman boys, Nolan, Porter and Giles.

An alumni picture with George who has been the starting announcer guy at Curtis for many, many years--look for him in the white in the middle of this picture.
Half way through the swim season Christian broke his wrist in 3 places while playing a rec game of indoor soccer. It was a sad and miserable day. For a few days he had a full arm cast then we opted to have surgery so he could get back in the water.
We have the best and most dedicated coaches at Curtis-Mark Olson and Denny Piccoloto.
10 days after surgery Christian was back in the water. 2 weeks later at districts, he was going full force and accomplished a 22.76 50 free which qualified him for state and the team also made it to state in 3 relays--200 medley, 200 free and 400 free. Christian was in all these relays. It seemed like a miracle and we were very proud of his hard work and determination.
Hanging out at the State meet at King County Aquatic Center...boys will be boys

400 free relay--Mac Baker, Joel Pryor, Joey Denstaedt and Christian.
Senior swimmers at the league meet--Matt, Christian, Skyler, Joey and Joel.

Our #1 Swim fans including Sarah and Molly Berger, Lauren Christiansen and Katie Bateman!!! These wonderful gals also made Christian a cozy fleece BYU blanket and gave it to him while he was recuperating.

Happy 80th Birthday Mom!

February 17th, 2010 was a fun and memorable day for us. Mom turned 80 and we had some surprises for her. These pictures give just an idea of the fun we had that day---First Ben, Rachel and kids surprised her with breakfast in bed! She was so happy and surprised to see them and it was great to watch her wake up to the kids climbing on the bed with her. Later in the afternoon Grandma was presented with a package--a jean quilt lovingly put together by granddaughters and daughters---everyone helped in some way or another! Grandma has always created fun and beautiful quilts for each of her grandchildren and so now it was her turn--the quilt was complete with pockets stuffed with goodies, gifts and notes from family members. (Thanks Tiff and Britt for planning this surprise!). We then had a delicious dinner at Stanley and Seaforts and then a night on the town in Seattle to see South Pacific. It was a very fun day for all of us.
We love you mom!

Mount Rainier

The Youth enjoyed Presidents Day at Paradise, Mt. Rainier. Mike said it was one of the most beautiful days to be on the mountain. There was fresh snow from the day before but the sky was clear. 40 youth and adults enjoyed a day of tubing, snowball fights and building caves in the snow. Yeah for this beautiful world!
