Friends

I have some amazing friends. LaRene and I enjoyed a lunch date with Marion and Margaret for their birthday. The time flew by as we talked, laughed and enjoyed good food...yummy Affairs Bakery Restaurant!
Here is another birthday we celebrated together back in 1968 when I turned 4! Marion and Margaret are in the bright pink and green, and I'm in the light pink.
And one more picture to show just how far we go back. We are in Relief Society nursery class--you can see the twins sitting in front and I'm the tall baby in the playpen with the dazed/worried look on her face. Also in this picture are LuAnn and Glen and MaryLu. Wow, where have the years gone?

Arizona Wedding Weekend

MESA ARIZONA TEMPLE and WEDDING
For our 4 day holiday weekend we headed to Mesa, Arizona for Rebecca Bateman's beautiful wedding and reception. Wow, the first grandchild on the Bateman side is now married and we are so happy for her and Jacob. They make a wonderful couple.

Cousins Bethany and Rebecca

Jacob and Rebecca Herbst
Becky with her two grandma's
Fun with girl cousins--Kennedy, Meeka, Maria and Katie
Hannah with her Arizona cousins--it was so fun to be together for such a happy event!

Haley and Jackson get baptized. Our friends John and Nancy Anderson were fortunate to see two of their grandchildren baptized at the same time and we enjoyed spending time with the Bateman-Anderson-Mills families.
We really enjoyed the Arizona Golf resort. Each morning we watched the sunrise out our back patio and over the golf course. Then on the other side of our room was a beautiful pool and hottub just steps from our front door. Eric and Allyson's family stayed next door and the kids sure had fun together.

Town of Goldfield at the base of Superstition mountains. Such beautiful desert scenery--we took a little train ride and panned for gold.

These are some really old cars we found while exploring in Goldfield (cowboy town), check it out!!

Christian and Boston on the train ride

ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
We visited the campus of ASU and finally saw first hand what Mike has been telling me for years--there is a huge Bateman Science building on campus named after his great-uncle George Bateman. He was the founder of the science department at ASU. Also a very stately picture of him in the Science library. Very cool!
